Recently, scammers purporting to be EGL Tours created a page on a social platform and posted advertisements for promotional offers, luring customers into making enquiries directly via WhatsApp by clicking on a hyperlink provided.

 

Our Advice

  • Please check if advertisements are posted on the Facebook or Instagram page of EGL Tours with a blue tick verification badge;

  • You may seek verification via EGL Tours’ WhatsApp (6688 0312) or at their branches in person;

  • Clarification issued by EGL Tours (Chinese version only)

  • Please check the bank account numbers of travel agencies before making transfers. Do not make transfers to any personal accounts;

  • You may enter suspicious URLs on “Scameter” or “Scameter+”, the mobile app of “Scameter”, for security check in addition to seeking verification from relevant organisations;

  • If in doubt, please call the “Anti-Scam Helpline 18222” for enquiries.
